The Dollhouse Book

You know that we’re mad about dollhouses! Our Apple House and Pear House are getting lots of love, I couldn’t be happier with the initial feedback. Thank you so much! Here’s another one from Rock & Pebble that I’m super excited to show you.

Is it a book? Is it a house? Well it’s kinda both. As lovers of books, the creative process and doll houses, we had to combine all three into one. So voila The Dollhouse Book – a drawing book that turns into a dollhouse of your dreams!

The Dollhouse Book / Rock & Pebble

The Dollhouse Book / Rock & Pebble

It has 30 pages of die cut premium paper with a beautifully screen printed cardboard cover. Simply draw, paint, collage and decorate each page. Hold any spread open with the elastic cords on the cover and stand the book up. You now have your very own dollhouse like no other with 15 changeable rooms. A veritable mansion, it’s a magic dollhouse!

The Dollhouse Book

We had so much fun with our first book. Firstly just scribbling with crayons and we think the room looks great! : )

The Dollhouse Book

Decorating with washi tape and confetti – a must! Painting with brushes, stamping wallpaper patterns, collaging with papers or fabric. Make a glitter filled room for magic fairies to live in… With 15 rooms, there’s room enough for your wildest experiments.

The Dollhouse Book

I love the magical feeling of turning each page of a book to discover a new adventure. The open book creates a play space for children’s own story making.

The Dollhouse Book

You can also connect multiple books. This is great for friends and siblings to create their own houses, connecting them up to create a large house with different rooms. Then inviting each other to your special room!

The Dollhouse Book

So, dream up your own dollhouse, fill up the book with many exciting new rooms and every page becomes a new adventure. It’s an open playground of imagination. And  a 15 room mansion! : ) Oh and it folds away nicely to store.

They are available from Rock & Pebble and also coming to some of our awesome stockists.

The Dollhouse Book

We hope you like it and a happy Easter! : ) We’ll be back with fun projects on the site.

It’s the little things in life that make sure smile, and these little fellas have given us a grin from ear-to-ear. Anita’s Gatos is a little Etsy shop filled with amazing little creatures. From farm animals and sea critters to birds of the feather and insect fellows, her shop is filled with varieties and virtues.

Creator and founder Anita hails from Mexico and makes everything 100% from hand in her home studio on Staten Island. Just a little polymer clay, acrylic paint and imagination is all it takes: “I find it amazing that each of my figures started as a little ball of clay and end up making me feel like they have come to life, that is why I give each of them special characteristics and different personalities!” says Anita.

There is no doubting that these little pieces of art are made with lots of love. You can pick out a ready-made one from her store, or if you have something special in mind you can even request a custom order.

S is for Salmon by Hannah Viano

S is for Salmon by Hannah Viano

We have quite a few alphabet-related posts already (alphabet pompomschairs or typography books anyone?)  but I’ve got to share this one! “S is for Salmon” by Hannah Viano is an alphabet book based on the Pacific Northwest; A is for anemone and B should definitely stand for beautiful book! Loving the paper-cut art and colours, definitely a favourite! (Via Buyolympia)

Balloon Bench

We’d love Float away with this magical Balloon Bench + Seat from Japanese studio h220430.  Visually influenced by the 1953 French movie ‘Le Ballon Rouge’, this cute little chesterfield chair is carefully suspended from the ceiling by four anchors hidden behind the inflated balloons. Very clever indeed.

Balloon Bench

When relaxing on this very special chair, your world is as big as your imagination. First up we’d drift away over the Alps, the Grand Canyon, the Fairy Glen, Patagonia and then onto Narnia for tea with a friendly fox. And that would just be our first adventure.  Where would you like to drift away to?
